Readers, Readers, Everywhere!

One day right after Thanksgiving 2020, I looked down at my Apple Watch and couldn’t read it – what? I did one of those things where you kind of shake your head and close your eyes and then take a look again…nope, still blurry. Well it was blurry, but this was the first time it all started, so it wasn’t that bad yet, but seriously, how does this happen over night? Like Thursday I could see and now Friday I can’t?! This doesn’t make any sense! Anyways, so it took me a while to give in to buying some readers. Actually, I think I asked someone to just buy me some cheap Dollar Store readers for Christmas, so that I could “try them out”. Little did I know that after trying them out that they would eventually never, ever leave my body again! They are ALWAYS on top of my head, sometimes they’re up there with a pair of sunglasses, so that makes two pairs of glasses on top of my head! There’s a pair on my head, a pair at my work, a pair in my car, a pair in my purse, several on my nightstand, one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom and even another in the closet!! So, I thought that I had all of my bases covered…but alas, I did not and I just found a new place that I may need to keep readers! IN THE SHOWER! There have been a few instances lately where I wanted to read the bottles in my shower and it sucks, because I can’t! I can't see it!! Well, not unless I want to run dripping across the bathroom to get my readers…which I did not do. The first time, I was trying to figure out if this barely used shampoo/conditioner was actually shampoo or conditioner. Then, the second time is what prompted me to write this. I had this ah ha moment in the shower as to why my shower had more recently in the last year been “clogging up” with what appeared to be literally nothing. I had to use a straw cleaner tool to clean the holes of my shower and I was like, what is doing this and causing this lake in my shower?! I had this revelation at that moment that it must be my beloved Nivea Cocoa Butter In Shower Lotion. And then I started thinking, OH NO, is this septic tank safe? If it's clogging up my drain with oily stuff - how can it be? Why did I not ever think about that before? Our septic tank had been so good for the last few years and you don’t wanna mess that up! It’s a gem, as long as it’s working properly! So, I tried and tried, and tried to read the bottle of the Nivea In Shower Lotion to see if it was safe to use or not (been using for a year and a half, so hope so)! And I couldn’t read it. As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t squint or squeeze my eyes enough to see it. So when I got out of the shower, that’s when I grabbed my readers and checked. It does not, in fact say “septic safe”. Ugh – I was devastated. I love this stuff! I later read online that while it doesn’t say septic safe, it also doesn’t say don’t use with septic tanks, so it’s a gamble. Unfortunately, one I’m not willing to take. I will have to say goodbye to my favorite In Shower Lotion for now. And hopefully, I won't need readers again in my shower any time soon!
