My House Anniversary is hand written on my calendar every year. And each year, I transfer it over to the next year's calendar. What's your House Anniversary? Mine is November 29, 2007! Today is 18 years ago that I closed on this house and it was an absolute dream come true!!
Mick moved in a bit later, in 2014!
I used to live in a totally different area of town about thirty minutes away and dreamed of living in this neighborhood for ages. Before getting this house, I first moved to a different house nearby, to a little bit more of an affordable neighborhood right around the corner. At the house nearby, I busted my butt and worked hard to fix it up while I lived there for two years. After those two years, I was able to sell it for a decent profit, which allowed me to buy this house in the neighborhood that I'd been dreaming about for years!
First Impression: It had a foyer! Score! In my last house nearby, right when you walked in, you were basically standing in front of the TV and I always hated that! This house not only had a foyer, but it was a glorious one, with built in bookshelves and a BIG closet!

The floor plan of this 1940's 2/1 was perfect and had a sun room with exposed brick to boot. (Drooling)! Floor plans are my LIFE, when it comes to houses. I could look at floor plans literally ALL DAY LONG. This house had a GREAT floor plan...And this house had CLOSETS - LOTS of extra closets, especially for an old house!! It had a foyer closet, a hall closet and even a closet by the back door and OMG the Pantry was just about as big as the bedroom closets! This is super rare for these old houses. The hardwood floors were gorg! The kitchen was a galley style, but was spaced out by about five feet from side to side, so it didn't really feel like a galley kitchen. I literally fell in love and even though it was at the tippy top of my budget, I thought, it's ok....I'll live here for two years, fix it up and sell it, make some money and move on to the next. The universe had different plans. And then, the market crashed and I wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. Sometimes, things work out differently than you expect, but because it's meant to be. I was meant to be here. I was meant to live here. I was meant to grow here. There was SO much more to come! Happy Anniversary to me! xoxo
